Frequently Asked Questions

A non-exclusive song can be licensed by multiple artists. It’s a great, budget-friendly way to get high-quality vocals. An exclusive song is yours and yours alone, once you invest in it, it is taken off the market and no other producer can license it.
- 02
Exclusive investments come with a "Partner Push." This includes social media shoutouts to Liel’s audience, advice on release strategy, and inclusion in our community playlists to help your release get traction.
- 03
We call it an investment because we are entering a partnership where the goal is mutual success. Unlike a standard "purchase," you are investing in a collaboration. To support your investment, we use a recoupment model: you will receive 100% of the royalties (minus a $50 administrative fee) until your initial investment is fully paid back. Only after you have recouped your costs do we begin the 50/50 royalty split.
- 04
While the deep-dive marketing support is reserved for exclusive partners, we always love to see what our club members create! We frequently share member wins and non-exclusive releases in our community groups.
- 05
By working through the investment package, you save significantly compared to hiring a session vocalist, songwriter, and marketing consultant separately. Most partners save between 40-60% in upfront costs compared to standard industry rates.
- 06
Most sites offer "work-for-hire" vocals where you pay a flat, non-recoupable fee just to access the file. With Liel, your payment is an entry into a professional collaboration. We structure it so that the "entry fee" is recoupable from the song's earnings, ensuring that our interests are aligned for the song to actually perform.
- 07
In the music industry, "success" is never guaranteed, but we can guarantee a professional product that meets industry standards. We give you the best possible tools, but the song's journey depends on the market and your own dedication.
- 08
Yes. You receive your share of the royalties until your investment is recouped (minus the $50 fee). This is a more artist-friendly model than a "split from dollar one," which is a common industry term where the singer takes 50% of every cent immediately. My goal is to help you break even on your investment as quickly as possible.
- 09
Payments are processed through platforms like DistroKid or Music Gateway. If Liel handles the upload, the payment split is structured automatically so you receive funds at your own pace. If you release the song, you must ensure the payment structure is set up identically to honor the recoupment and split agreement.
- 10
Typically, you (the artist) release the song through your distributor (DistroKid, Tunecore, etc.). However, for certain exclusive tiers, we can discuss co-release options.
- 11
We guarantee our effort and the specific marketing tasks listed in your package (like social posts). We cannot guarantee "virality" or specific stream counts, as those are determined by platform algorithms.
- 12
We both own the rights to the specific version we create together. For non-exclusive tracks, Liel maintains the right to create other versions with other producers. For exclusive tracks, the song is taken off the market and will never be sold to another producer. However, after a 2-year period, Liel maintains the right to create a new version specifically for commercial or sync placements (TV/Film).
- 13
No. If a song is purchased as a non-exclusive, it cannot be upgraded to an exclusive later. Because non-exclusives can be licensed by multiple people simultaneously, we cannot "pull it back" to make it exclusive to one person once it's out there.
- 14
If an exclusive song is not released within 6 months, the exclusivity expires and the song can be resold. I don't want my songs buried in a drawer! However, if you have extenuating circumstances, please contact me for an extension—I’m happy to be flexible if you're still working on the release.
- 15
Absolutely. You can start with a basic membership and upgrade to an investment package whenever you’re ready.
- 16
You keep your share of the royalties as outlined in our agreement. These are paid directly to you by your distributor or through the shared payment platforms we use.
- 17
No. Because you have a legal license/agreement from Liel, you have the right to use the vocals. We provide the documentation to clear any automated flags.

You can modify the vocals (mixing, EQ, etc.) to fit your track, but my image and identity cannot be modified. You cannot use my voice to create an AI singer or a fictional character. Furthermore, all songs must either credit "Liel Bar-Z" or remain uncredited/anonymous, you cannot credit the vocals to a different name.
